Club Manifesto

I. Our Purpose

We believe that Country and Blues are the foundation of modern music, and they deserve to be played with respect, intention, and fire. This isn't a bedroom hobbyists' group or a place to spam links; this is a performance-first social club. We exist to bridge the gap between "knowing the tunes" and "owning the stage."

II. The Standard

  • Preparation is Respect: We value each other’s time. When you claim a song from our curated list, you are making a pact with the band. We show up to rehearsals knowing the charts, the key, and the vibe.

  • Tone Over Ego: In this house, we play for the song, not the solo. We appreciate the "space" in B.B. King’s phrasing and the "story" in a country lyric.

  • Community Over Competition: There is no room for gatekeeping here. Whether you’re a 30-year pro or a rising talent, if you have the chops and the heart, you have a seat at the table.

III. How We Move

  1. We Curate: We pick the artists and the tracks that shaped history.

  2. We Collaborate: We pair musicians who might never have met to create one-night-only lineups.

  3. We Perform: We turn digital conversations into live, loud, and authentic experiences.

IV. Our Promise

If you contribute your talent, we will provide the platform. No more "hoping" to find a band. No more "waiting" for a gig. We build the shows, we provide the charts, and we pack the room.

How to Claim Your Spot for the Showcase

The Vision

We aren't just playing covers; we are building a tribute. To make this show sound like a record, we need every player to be a specialist. Whether you want to lead the band on guitar, hold down the rhythm, or take center stage on vocals, this is where it starts.

The Sign-Up Process

  1. Review the Master Setlist: Look at the embedded Google Sheet located in the current Showcase sign-up under the Poduction Suite heading to see which songs are currently [OPEN].

  2. Pick Your Battles: Select 1 to 2 songs that you can play (or sing) with 100% confidence.

  3. Claim It: Reply to this thread using the following format:

    • Song Title: [Name of Song]

    • Role: [Lead Guitar / Rhythm Guitar / Bass / Drums / Vocals / Keys / Harmonica]

    • Vibe Check: Are you bringing a specific piece of gear for this (e.g., "Bringing my slide guitar" or "Bringing my '59 Bassman amp")?

  4. Wait for Confirmation: An Admin will update the Master Sheet with your name within 24 hours. Once your name is in BOLD, the slot is yours!

The "Golden Rules" of Signing Up:

  • The "Show-Ready" Promise: By signing up, you agree to show up to the rehearsal having already mastered the charts and reference tracks provided in the [Resources] section.

  • Backline & Gear: We provide the "Big Stuff" (Drums/Amps/PA), but you are responsible for your own "Small Stuff" (Instruments, Pedals, Cables, Sticks).

  • Communication is King: If something comes up and you can no longer make the show, you must notify us at least 4 days in advance so we can find a sub. No-shows are not cool in this club.

  • First-Come, First-Served: Slots fill up fast. If the song you wanted is gone, check for "Partial" bands that still need a rhythm section or backing vocals!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • "Can I play more than 2 songs?" Wait 48 hours after the list is posted. If slots are still open, feel free to claim a third! We want to give everyone a chance to play first.

  • "I don’t have a band, can I still sign up?" YES. That is the point of the club! Sign up for a slot, and we will pair you with other members to form a one-night-only "Supergroup."

Black Butte Social Club Community Code

1. Preparation is Respect

  • The Rule: If you sign up for a song, you are committing to learn it. "Learning it" means knowing the structure, key, and signature licks before you arrive at rehearsal.

  • The Goal: We value each other’s time. Showing up unprepared holds the whole band back.

2. No "Drive-By" Self-Promotion

  • The Rule: Do not post links to your own music, videos, or social media unless it is in the designated [Self-Promo Friday] thread or your Member Portfolio.

  • The Goal: We are a community of players, not a billboard for ads. Engage with others’ content more than you post your own.

3. Professional Communication Only

  • The Rule: Treat every interaction—whether on the forum or in person—like a business meeting. No "shouting" (ALL CAPS), no trolling, and no unsolicited critiques.

  • The Goal: We want to be the group that venues love to book because we are easy to work with.

4. No-Show & Cancellation Policy

  • The Rule: If you cannot make a rehearsal or a show you’ve committed to, you must notify an Admin at least 72 hours in advance.

  • The Goal: Repeated "no-shows" without notice will result in loss of performance privileges. The band depends on you.

5. Privacy & Gear Safety

  • The Rule: Respect the "Green Room." Do not share photos/videos of rehearsals without everyone's consent. Treat others' gear with more care than your own. Never touch someone else's instrument or amp without asking first.

  • The Goal: To create a safe, high-trust environment for all levels of musicians.

6. No "Gatekeeping" or Elitism

  • The Rule: Whether someone plays a $5,000 Gibson or a $200 Pawn Shop special, we judge based on the music, not the price tag. Help the newcomers; learn from the pros.

  • The Goal: A welcoming culture for Music fans of all backgrounds.
